9 Day Old Baby Wants to Feed Constantly

Husband rant. He's usually so good. I went for a bath and he was just starting to settle her ti sleep so I said once she's asleep put her to bed. What does he do, sit on YouTube with music blaring and he's just put her to bed and now she's wide awake and we're having a cup of tea. Her next feed is about 12-1am 😡he can bloody do that one. The though he won't as soon as I hear her mum mode engages

But all the mums here are amazing! We're true superwomen!

Sorry so many of you had rubbish days.
Hope it'll get better soon.

How annoying!! My fiancé pisses me off even sneezing in the same room as the baby when she's sleeping. Takes ages to get her settled, finally get a bit of time to get stuff done or just sit and have a cup of tea and my hands back and he just comes along with his stupid stupid big unnecessary sneezes.

My husband literally just sneezed and woke Finn up. Luckily he's gone back to sleep pretty easily but whyyyyy do they do it?!

Super mums all of us ❤

Please don't ever be ashamed about combi feeding. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about! I breast fed for around 11 weeks and then called it a day simply because I couldn't do it anymore. There is absolutely no shame in giving a bit of formula! X

He maybe wants the boob for a wee bit of a snuggle and comfort. I call that a "snuggly booby", when they just want a wee suck. And then sometimes they get a wee meal with it which is just a bonus 🤣
You have no reason to feel ashamed at all. You're baby is clearly thriving, tree trunk thighs as evidence! And if you felt you were struggling and don't now then it's a win for everyone ❤ Breastfeeding a baby is wonderful, but it's not the only wonderful way to be there for your baby and connect with them. Your life together will be so much more than these baby days and how he was fed.

Thanks ladies x love the snuggly booby, that's definitely what it is! I think it's more I'm a bit ashamed that I gave into the pressure of giving more formula as lots around me where saying 'just do it so that someone else could feed him' or 'it will help him get used to other people' which I know isn't true but I was done in. Cluster feeding is something else…..plus I was told breastfeeding burns crazy calories but I'm still carrying so much extra weight, I feel robbed 😋 🤣

I know he's thriving & certainly not going hungry & he's healthy so that's all I care about. He's started making fart noises tonight which made me laugh so much.

On the hubby/partner rant, mine decided right at bed time was the right time to go for a shave coz he felt he looked rough. Just up & went leaving me with 5 year old & baby to sort for bed. Could've waited an hour or so but nooo couldn't wait. I'd love to just get up & go for a shower or wash my hair like that & not care about what else needs done at that moment. Men! xx

Another fog horn here! Why on earth do men have to sneeze so loud?!

Mine is really getting on my nerves because of his smartphone addiction. When I ask him to look after Kitten, he just puts her in her bouncy chair, bounces her with his foot and reads stuff on Reddit or whatever. Kitten is growing and changing so fast, how is she not more fascinating/interesting than some stupid memes online 🙄

It's incredible how "grown up" their farts can sound right? 😂

My mum looked after my baby the other week and gave her back saying she farts like a man 😂

god knows! It's so loud! It's ridiculous. Just leave the room or something. He also does massive burps and wakes her up. I told him to just get out (the room) before. Leave!

My baby is another massive farter! She'll do one and then looked shocked about where the noise has come from. From your bottom young lady!

He's not so bad for it now, but I remember my husband used to annoy me so much when we got home from being out with the kids. He'd walk in to the house, take off his coat and go and do whatever. Meanwhile I'd be unpacking, taking kids coats/shoes etc off, dealing with whatever request they suddenly had, and he'd be off making himself a wee cup of tea or whatever 🤨

Unrelated: my nipples have been tested today. They've been chomped on almost non stop. They may drop off overnight, who knows. I'll keep you all abreast of the situation (pun intended 😂)

I've decided to try no dummy, I'm going to miss the dreamfeed as she had over 10oz between 6-7pm, we've had jabs today and I've had two wines so no co sleeping if it gets rough in the night. Wish me luck 🤣

I have a husband that coughs 10 seconds after the baby falls asleep on him 🙃
Like, do it quietly or you best be choking to death. There is no in between 😂

Mr O put a film on at 10 and we've still only watched about 30 mins of it. Asides from the fact that baby o wants feeding or cuddling constantly, mr o also insists on pausing it everytime the dog snores or baby o grunts because 'he can't hear'. Put the bloody subtitles on and get on with it 🙄

Just adding that baby o appears to have got herself into a pickle. She's been awake and grunting since 8.30 and now she's in a position where she's too hungry to sleep but too tired to eat 😩

not helped by the facT that she's been lying on me or mr o most of the evening/night - anyone else's baby forget to tell you they're hungry when they're being cuddled or is mine just a weirdo 😵💫

Mine is almost impossible to read these days. We miss read hunger all the time it's so frustrating. We feed her too early or when she's literally crying 😵💫

also to quote myself guess whose doing the 1am feed haha I sure told him….
Hi guys lol

Not that I wish sleep deprivation on anyone, but I love coming to this thread and seeing I'm not alone with the multiple wake ups and feeling like pure mould with tiredness.
Especially when your useless nippled husband is laying next to you, snoring his head off in blissful ignorance to the amount of times you've been up.
Sending love to all you tired mums this morning xxx

Hello!! My baby used to sleep all night, and in her own bed.. Now she turned 1 she's waking constantly and won't sleep unless with me, (she's breastfed) I'm letting her self wean like my other 2, just how frustrating, you'd expect them to sleep more now they are older haha! I guess the extra cuddles are a bonus still though.

It's 8:50 and baby Goss is still asleep!

She normally wakes up between 7-8 for her first bottle but she's still snoozing away peacefully. I've checked about 15 times now that she's still breathing and now I'm just sitting in bed aimlessly looking at things on my phone waiting for her to wake up 😂

I've done that too! And then the second she dared to open her eyes, I took her in my arms and pressed her against my boob 😂
